History repeats itself and the camera man did repeat it for
all of us. I'm glad that my barely three year old son was able to witness History at very early stage. My family and I were lucky
to visit a place where our National Hero (Dr. Jose Rizal) got exiled in Dapitan
City. Acting as the tour guide as well, the camera man showed us the place and
well since he’s the camera man he took the pictures (it still makes me smile
when I remember the way he did it – one, two, smile!) He was very kind to give
us the details as we explored the so called Rizal Shrine.
Despite the itinerary fell at noontime, the air was refreshing as we were surrounded by trees, some were even planted by Rizal himself.
As we were lurking around, I was trying to retrieve what had been taught in our Rizal subject during high school but no memory ever flashed back. I was busy on probing the site and of course posing for picture taking.

We took a peek at Rizal's bedroom but dared not try to lie on it. There was also two of his clinics made of nipa and bamboo. It's where he did the medical procedure for his mom's eye. One of the nipa hut was used a free school for the children. He was blessed to have his pool during his stay there. Yes his own private olympic size pool.

I was surprised, no I guess refreshed to learn that in Dapitan is where the love between Rizal and Josephine Bracken blossomed. They even have a giant heart shaped stone as symbol of their love.
behind this heart-shaped stone is a river...romantic |

We are all bone tired for our History adventure yet we still managed to smile and excited to go home, tell our folks everything from our Dakak and Dapitan Escapade.
